TsUM is one of the oldest department stores in Moscow located in the very centre of the capital, at Petrovka Street. Over 1,500 boutiques of fashionable apparel, shoes, cosmetics and accessories from the world leading brands are located at the area of 69,000 m2.
Starting its history in the 19th century as a prototype of Whiteleys in London and La Bon Marche in Paris, TsUM gained its traditional architectural look back in 1908. Modern equipment, European comfort and beautiful decor of the department store impressed the Muscovites, but what is more, pre-revolutionary TsUM was equipped with two high-speed electrical lifts, which became an absolute sensation.
The next major renovation of TsUM took place in the late 1990s. And in 2006 a new TsUM building was opened, which has increased considerably the usable area of the complex. At the same time a modern car park appeared, and the fit-out of the complex became fully compliant with today's highest international requirements.
Metropolis team successfully completed a number of MEP fit-out projects for the world famous tenants of TsUM Department store, such as Crystal, Basso, Agent Provocateur and others. It should also be noted that about 30 MEP fit-out projects for TsUM Department store were carried out by a Russian representation office of an English design company, which stopped its activities in Russia in 2014 and its Moscow staff joined Metropolis. Today we have highly qualified specialists that took part in design development of such boutiques as Mercury, Zenith, Valentino, Givenchy, Michael Kors, Gucci, Prada, Dolce&Gabbana, Malandrino, Carolina Herrera and many others.
