Moskomsport covered skating rink is being constructed in Moscow, Michurinskiy prospect, Olympiyskaya derevniya, 2, as part of complex reconstruction of Olympic Village-80 sports complex.


It is meant for training in hockey and regional competitions. The building locates an ice  arena, tribunes for 284 seats, ice training grounds and exercise rooms.  An adjacent administrative building locates locker and check rooms for sportsmen and audience, training and excercise rooms, a snack bar, rooms for staff and administration, plantrooms. 


As the General designer for the project, Metropolis is the author of architectural solutions. The building facades are styled in a single colour scheme with the main building of the complex and are consistent with the functional purpose of the rink. The main colour of the facade is white symbolizing the ice and snow theme. The facade plastic is emphasized with metal fins forming a grahpical spatial pattern, perforated panels, decorative silhouettes with background lighting separated from the facade plane. 


Metropolis team was also in charge of collecting initial data, obtaining Technical conditions from power supply companies, undertaking engineering, geological and ecological surveys and developing all chapters of design documentation. 


In 2017 the project became the finalist of BIM-technologies competition organized by the Ministry for construction of Russia.
